Born and raised in Cheung Sha Wan, Yvonne shared her personal encounters and observations of the trees

Led by long-time Cheung Sha Wan resident Yvonne Lam, this guided tour took participants through the neighbourhood’s streets to explore its trees and the community stories that have grown around them.

Inspired by the book Seeing Trees and People: Into the Urban Forest of Sham Shui Po, which records local residents’ memories and visions for an ideal community, the tour reflected on the essential elements that make neighbourhood life meaningful.

Born and raised in Cheung Sha Wan, Yvonne shared her personal encounters and observations of the trees that shaped her childhood and witnessed the district’s transformation — offering participants a local’s perspective on the living relationship between people, place, and nature.
