Jockey Club Tree Lovers – Discovering Green Canopy in Sham Shui Po

Explored the Sham Shui Po district, conducting tree surveys

Total Sessions: 52

Total Participants: 797 (as of August 2025)

We often hear about the many benefits of trees — but have you ever wondered, how much can one single tree actually do for the environment?

The “Discovering Green Canopy in Sham Shui Po” programme invites plant enthusiasts and curious minds to join the Deep Forest Survey Team, becoming citizen scientists for a day. Together, participants explored the Sham Shui Po district, conducting tree surveys to analyse and quantify the environmental value and impact of urban trees.

By taking part, community members not only learned about the science behind trees, but also discovered how every tree contributes to a greener, more liveable city.
